How can you tell if you’re pregnant? You can tell you’re pregnant by early pregnancy signs after 6 days from conception. Nasal congestion and triphasic BBT pattern are earliest signs.

Every woman wants to know the quickest way to detect a pregnancy. Missing period is a sign of pregnancy, but it is not a sure indicator. The period could return and break all your hopes if you got any. How can you tell if you are pregnant?

Apart from taking a pregnancy test, many other signs tell you whether you are pregnant. Looking for early signs of pregnancy can tell you that you are pregnant.

There are many tell-tale symptoms of pregnancy, but not all happen in case of every woman. A woman only experiences a combination of some signs. You need to know all the symptoms of pregnancy to be able to tell that you are pregnant.

After having sex, a woman has to ideally wait for two weeks to get an accurate pregnancy test. It is because most pregnancy tests have sensitivity around 25 mIU/mL of hCG. The pregnancy hormone starts forming after implantation.

Implantation itself occurs after a week or more from conception. So the time one must wait before taking the test is ideally two weeks after intercourse.

Some women might take even longer to get the desired hCG levels. The serum hCG levels rise quickly. The same hormone starts coming in urine, and that takes even longer.

How soon can you tell if you are pregnant?

The early signs of pregnancy can start appearing in a woman as soon as 6-7 days after conception. But this is not at all general and varies drastically. Some women might continue to have a period during pregnancy for three months.

Others may get implantation bleeding within 6 days. It also depends on the time of having sex. If you have sex during the fertile window, then chances are high for getting pregnant.

The early pregnancy symptoms are:

  1. Nasal congestion
  2. Tender Breasts
  3. Cervix changes
  4. Frequent urge to pee
  5. Constipation
  6. Cramps and spotting
  7. Aversions
  8. White discharge
  9. Mood swings worse than PMS
  10. Vomiting and nausea

Nasal congestion is typical in most pregnant women. The nasal membrane becomes very sensitive during pregnancy and may swell.

Breasts become tender and may hurt even by a loose bra due to the new hormones building up in your body.

Vomiting and nausea continue for the entire first month. Morning sickness is an elevated form of nausea and feeling uneasy. Headaches and dizziness happen due to fluctuating blood pressure.

The bladder feels full, or you feel wet near the urethral opening. You may feel urinating frequently.

Due to fluctuating hormones, you have constipation, and it’s painful. The rising progesterone levels make the digestive system very sensitive. Mood swings become worse than PMS, and you feel like sleeping all the time.

In case a pregnant woman is under stress then she may have insomnia. It is also in the case of unwanted and unplanned pregnancies.

Another way to tell that you are pregnant is seeing symptoms of implantation bleeding in you. Implantation is the first step of pregnancy. The embryo implants in the uterus and the placenta formation begins.

You may have implantation bleeding and cramps. There is mild pain and is completely normal. Even if you don’t see any such symptoms, it is normal. Not all women have implantation bleeding.

Spotting during pregnancy can occur and does in the case of 1/3rd pregnancies.

Can you tell you are pregnant after three days?

Three days is too early to tell that you are pregnant because after conception events take at least six days to complete. Post-fertilization events include rapid divisions of the egg.

Implantation occurs after 6-12 days from conception. Pregnancy signs will take around 5-6 days to start showing.

These will be indistinguishable from PMS in many cases. Those women who are trying to get pregnant know how what they expect to be pregnancy turns to be a late period.

Even the earliest pregnancy test detects pregnancy six days before missed period which means eight days after conception or ovulation.

Ovulation releases a 24 hours viable egg. So conception most likely occurs within 24 hours after ovulation.

If a woman wants to know whether she is pregnant within three days after conception, then she must look for early signs.

Taking a pregnancy test three days after sex or conception is too early. False negative pregnancy tests are very common. The major cause of false negative pregnancy test is taking the pregnancy test too soon. Another reason is not following the pregnancy test instructions.

How soon can I know that I’m pregnant? It is something so varying that only you can answer it for yourself.

But mostly women come to know that they are pregnant after a week from a missed period. Those who are trying to get pregnant may find it a few days before or on the day of the missed period.

  2. Hello
I had sex on the 24th April, after which I saw my period on the 28th April. Is there a chance that I could still get pregnant even after seeing my period?

    • Yes it is possible that you get period during pregnancy. But the timing of intercourse mentioned by you is far ahead of expected ovulation if 28 April was due date.

  4. Hello. I had 2x menstruation last Oct 2021, Oct 1 and oct 27. By Oct 27 I take contraceptive pills, the Frewell Combination Tablet LD Mochida. I took the pills from last week of October to Nov 19. On the 21st to 28th were the days I have not taken the pills. By Nov 26 I came back to my OB, and instead of asking a prescription of another brand of pills because the 1st type of pills I took were have many side effects to me, I asked my OB to precribe a medicine that will help me ovulate since she diagnosed me having PCOS. So my OB gave clomid and I will take it during the 5th day of my menstruation. But from whole November 2021 upto this date I don’t have my period yet. My OB said my possible next menstruation is December 20, but I don’t have my menstraution yet. I already have 3x pregnancy test but it is negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant? even if I took the contraceptive pills. Or the pills just make my menstruation irregular?

Because my OB said I have pcos, I was diagnosed just Oct 16 2021 that I have pcos, but my mentsruation cycle before was so normal not until I took the contraceptive pills it made my menstruation somehow irregular.
